Not safe to return
NSW SES is advising people that it is NOT SAFE TO RETURN to the following area(s) due to power lines, significant damage caused by ex-Tropical Cyclone Narelle TEST:
- Bondi
- Manly
- Watson's Bay
This emergency warning was first issued Tuesday 02 Jun 11:18 am. It has been updated based on extended predictions from the Bureau of Meteorology. If you are located in the warning area, you were warned to Take shelter now.
It is not safe to return. Continue to avoid cyclone-affected areas.
Evacuation Information
You should remain evacuated staying safe with family, friends, or alternate accommodation in areas not affected by the cyclone. If you are unable to find accommodation, registration points have been set up at:
- Castle Hill RSL, Castle Hill NSW
If you return to the area, you may become trapped without power, water, internet and other essential services. It may be too dangerous for NSW SES to rescue you, and buildings may have been impacted by the cyclone.
This Emergency Warning will remain in place until you can return.

This event may change quickly. NSW SES will monitor the situation and update warnings if the situation changes.
What you need to do:
If you have not already evacuated:
- Cover any windows in your safe room with a mattress or heavy blankets. This will protect you if the window breaks.
- If the roof comes off, shelter under your mattress and blankets.
- Stay in your safe place until you are told it is safe. This could take several hours.
- Keep pets in a safe place inside.
- Keep all doors and windows closed.
If you have already evacuated:
- Stay where you are until you are told it is safe to go back.
- NSW SES will issue a 'Reduced Threat: Return with Caution' Advice, when you can return.
- Obey all signs about road closures and instructions from emergency services.
